About Us

Backyard Amenities is a custom, gunite in-ground swimming pool builder designing and constructing luxury pools and spas in the greater Houston area. We are a family-owned and operated company specializing in devoted customer service and complete customer satisfaction. Brad and Patty Stephens, who founded the company in 1998, are hands-on owners, supervising every step of the pool construction process from the first sales meeting to the first swim. Customers always have access to the owner of the company!

The Backyard Amenities pool construction process starts when one of our representatives meets with the homeowners to discuss the project and assess their wants and needs. We will then complete the design and preliminary drawings and a proposal is drawn up. Once the design and proposal are approved, a contract is finalized, permitting and approvals have been obtained, construction can begin.

Awards

Backyard Amenities won the prestigious AQUA 100 award in five consecutive years and became an AQUA 100 Hall of Fame inductee just six years after the company’s founding. The company has also been named a Top 50 Pool Builder by Pool and Spa News seven times. We have received eight Carecraft Design of Excellence Awards, two Better Business Bureau Gold Torch awards and the Lee College Small Business of the Year-Monument award.

Meet The Team

Backyard Amenities is a small family-owned company founded by Brad and Patty Stephens in 1998. Brad began working in the pool industry in 1981, and remembers thinking of things he’d do differently if he owned the company. Once he got the chance to put his ideas into practice, success came fast. Within six years, Backyard Amenities was among the top Houston pool builders and had won the prestigious AQUA 100 Hall of Fame award. Thousands of pools later, Brad still handles sales and construction supervision for every pool the company builds.
